In females permanent birth control can be done by surgical procedure called Tubal Ligation.
For sterilization, the Fallopian tubes on both side are cut to create a breach so that neither the sperms can reach the egg, nor the matured egg can travel to the uterus.
Egg instead of passing into uterus, get disintegrated and absorbed by the body harmlessly.
Although this process is said to be for ‘temporary’ and a reunion of the tubal ends is possible. A consent form is usually signed stating that you are aware of the having undergone sterilization being permanent.
In Abdominal Tubal Ligation the tube is cut and tied through an incision below the navel.
When done Laparoscopically the tube is cauterized and cut or clamped with silicone bands or clips.
