Most men find it difficult to express their feelings, because from a very early age, they are discouraged from expressing their emotions.
For example,
When a boy falls someone would immediately say, “Boys don’t cry like girls”. And in most cultures, tears are considered to be unmanly.
Boys are trained to hide their feelings such as fear, anxiety or love which becomes part of their nature. This nature continues in adulthood and they fail to communicate love the way it is expected by their spouse in married life.
Unaware of this commonly cultivated nature of men, women generally misunderstand their husband; and quite often term them as indifferent or unsentimental.
Their inability to say ‘I love you’ especially during marital relationship, causes lot of frustration and unhappiness in a relationship.
Unfortunately, by repressing their feelings many men allow their frustrations to aggravate even without their knowledge.
Contrary to this, expressing anger and being aggressive are accepted behaviours for men
Inability to express love in combination with their aggressive behaviour collectively contributes to lot of misunderstandings which lead to disturbed married life.
Men become successful in marriage when they learn to express their love on day-to-day basis and convert their aggressive nature to become a patient listener and understanding person.
A loving smile can do wonders in most situations.
